Installation and fixing How to install Basotect foam

The success of an acoustic treatment depends as much on the choice of foam as on substrate preparation, fixing method and the actual surface area covered.

The substrate must be clean, dry and homogeneous: concrete, plasterboard, wood, metal or suspended ceiling.

We recommend using Bostik MSP 108 adhesive. On average, one cartridge can bond approximately 5 sheets in 1250 × 1250 mm format.

Choosing the thickness and formats

The choice depends on the noise level, room volume, available surface area and building constraints.

Simple cuts can be made with a sharp cutter. For complex shapes, Solutions Élastomères offers waterjet foam cutting.

Useful accessories for wall or ceiling installation

On ceilings or walls, the foam can be fixed with a suitable adhesive or with specific suspension systems: suspension systems, suspension cables and metal hooks.
